Profile

Since obtaining my BSc Psychology degree at The University of York, my career has centred around working with children. I have carried out previous research roles working at The Centre for Reading and Language (The University of York) and in both the School of Psychology and the School of Education at The University of Leeds with research interests in children’s acquisition of language and literacy skills.

Research interests

I am passionate about children's literacy and language development. Through carrying out work in the community, I hope to remove barriers to achievement and promote a love of reading.

My PhD project is to evaluate and develop a community-based intervention which promotes shared-reading and library-use in children transitioning to primary school.

Projects that I have worked on at the University of Leeds;

Connecting and Comprehending through play
