- Thesis title: How Dental Anxiety Shapes Dental Care Access for Female ADHD Adults in the UK
- Supervisors: Dr Karen Vinall-Collier, Dr Julia Csikar , Professor Gail Douglas, Professor Jennifer Hallam
Profile
Currently pursuing a PhD in Dental Public Health at the University of Leeds, focusing on dental anxiety as a barrier to oral healthcare access in neurodivergent populations.
My research centers on the overlooked intersection between mental health, gender, and oral health, particularly how undiagnosed ADHD in adult females contributes to avoidance, fear, and health inequalities in dental care. I’m especially interested in the role of cognitive vulnerability, social masking, and systemic bias in shaping patients’ experiences and treatment outcomes.
