Why did you choose the School of Dentistry at the University of Leeds?

University of Leeds is well known for its research and educational training and also offers world class facilities. Students around the globe comes to study here.

Why did you choose your course? Why is it important for you to be studying it?

When I finished my Bachelors in Dentistry I was keen to pursue my masters in area of public health interest and Dental Public Health was the only course I can think of. Maintaining and receiving good oral health service is right of all individual. This subject provides in depth knowledge of how a dentist can help vulnerable people to achieve good oral health. 

What were you doing before you started studying here?

I was working as a lecturer in Department of preventive dentistry in Udaipur Dental college and hospital in India.

What was the highlight of the course?

Research module and of course Dental Public Health itself.

Did any particular modules or projects impress you?

Yes, I was very keen in learning Research module.

What support have the tutors and other staff given to you?

A great support was given to us by Prof. Gail and Dr. Julia, they serve as a backbone to students throughout the course. 

How did you plan to use what you have learned here? How will doing the course benefit you and the organisation you work in?

I am currently being selected as a PhD candidate at Newcastle University UK. This happened because I have learned the research skill from this course. This Course in all has provided me insight of research and I can now independently perform one. 

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I am planning for my PhD.

What do you think of the city of Leeds and of Yorkshire as a region?

City of Leeds was a very lively place and is opened up for all new comers from different parts of world. Students enjoys all facilities and night life here with great working and studying environment.
