Andre Tomlin Founder and Director of the Mental Elf (2011) and the National Elf Service (2015). The title of his talk is ‘The National Elf Service: Welcome to the Woodland!'.
We’ll be joined by Andre Tomlin Founder and Director of the Mental Elf (2011) and the National Elf Service (2015).
The title of his talk is ‘The National Elf Service: Welcome to the Woodland!’, he will deliver a session describing the 15 year gap between research and practice, and the majority of mental health practice is not based on any reliable evidence. Health organisations say they are evidence-based, but their staff lack the time, skill and resources to use evidence to inform their shared decision-making with service users. Andre will explain what inspired this foray into the woodland, how democratisation of mental health conversations is the key to truly evidence-based practice, and why gamification of learning about new research will reap huge rewards for students, practitioners and researchers.
