John Gilbert Vause Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is available to home, EU and international students at the University of Leeds who are intercalating at undergraduate level and studying at the School of Medicine. This award provides a grant of £500 and has two places available. All countries This award is available to University of Leeds MBChB students pursuing an intercalating programme study at the University of Leeds. There is no need to apply, application is automatic. For the purpose of making awards to medical students who are intercalating, the School ranks students within the year cohort according to the score achieved in the most recent Integrated Summative Examination (ISE). Students in Year 1-4 of the MBChB programme take ISEs at the end of each year of study. It is the highest ranking in the relevant ISE which determines the recipient of the above awards.
Medicine CL Fund These scholarships are available to home, EU and international students at the University of Leeds who are intercalating at undergraduate level and studying at the School of Medicine. This award provides a grant of £1,000 and has five places available. All countries Only applicable to intercalating University of Leeds students. This award will be made to support 5 students who wish to intercalate onto a BSc programme for a year.

The Martin Bequest (BSc Applied Health - Medical Education) This scholarship is available to home, EU and international students at the University of Leeds who are intercalating at undergraduate level and studying at the School of Medicine. The McLeod Award (Microbiology) This scholarship is available to home, EU and international students at the University of Leeds who are intercalating at undergraduate level and studying at the School of Medicine. This award provides a grant of up to £5,000. All countries Only applicable to intercalating University of Leeds students studying a Microbiology related MSc.

British Heart Foundation (BHF) BHF run a 4-year PhD programme in Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes which funds 5 studentships a year. UK
EPSRC Bragg Centre Doctoral Training Studentships 2024/5 The Bragg Centre is proud to offer up to five PhD studentships each year, which includes fees and a maintenance grant for 3.5 years. Each year, a range of projects covering the breadth of our materials research portfolio will be available for applications. These will address fundamental and applied problems across design, characterisation, fabrication and modelling. UK
Fee Scholarship 2024 Up to 10 one-year UK fees scholarships worth up to £14,000 are available for applicants to full-time Masters and MRes degrees in any Faculty. UK Candidates must hold a UK 2i degree.

NHS Learning Support Fund The NHS offers various types of additional financial support to students studying certain Medical, Dentistry, and Healthcare courses to assist with costs related to study such as travel and childcare. UK
NIHR Leeds Non-Clinical PhD Scholarship The University of Leeds is providing generous matched funding, supplementing the NIHR Leeds BRC award, to allow us to appoint up to 4 non-clinical PhD Fellows who can select from 22 BRC related projects. Each PhD will be registered at the University of Leeds and we welcome applications from individuals, irrespective of their background, who can evidence great potential and commitment. UK

International

Beit Trust Provides funding for students from Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe for a full-time Masters course. Students must intend to return to their country after their studies. International Candidates must hold a degree equivalent to a UK 2i with relevant work experience.
Chevening Scholarships The Chevening Awards programme is an international scholarship scheme which enables students from over 170 countries to study in the UK. It is run on behalf of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and is part of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. A number of Chevening Partnerships awards co-funded by the FCO and the University of Leeds are also available. International
Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) One of the largest and most prestigious International scholarship schemes in the world. The CSC awards over 800 scholarships for postgraduate study per year. Different schemes for low-, middle- and high-income commonwealth countries. Scholarships cover travel, along with tuition fees and living allowance. Selection is based on merit. Special circumstance

Financial Assistance Fund The Leeds Financial Assistance Fund is a University-funded scheme for students and postgraduate researchers who are facing genuine or unexpected financial difficulties and who do not have alternative sources of financial support. Special circumstance Students are assessed on their individual needs and any help you get from the fund is non-repayable. You can apply at any time from the date you register up to the last day of your course.

NHS Hardship Grant This is a hardship grant for medical and dental students who are experiencing financial hardship and have applied for and exhausted all other forms of support, including the Leeds Financial Assistance Fund (LFAF). Special circumstance
Parents and financial dependents If you have children, you may be eligible for help with your childcare costs with a government Childcare Grant. If you’re a full-time undergraduate student and an adult depends on you financially, you can apply for an Adult Dependants’ Grant. Special circumstance
PGR Cost of Living Bursary The University offers non-repayable cost of living bursary’s of £250 to eligible students. Special circumstance To be eligible you must be a registered PGR classed as either self-funding, unfunded in your overtime period or a funded PGR who receives a maintenance stipend of less than the UKRI minimum award.
Plus Programme The Plus Programme is a scheme for UK-fee paying Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students who come from backgrounds that are less represented at university. This programme can provide additional financial support. Special circumstance Eligible students include Care leavers and estranged students. Students from a low participation area.
