Profile
As an undergraduate, I studied Psychology at the University of Leeds, where I subsequently completed an MSc by Research which explored the relationship between motor skills and cognition. Following my MSc by Research I was awarded an ESRC 1+3 pathway scholarship. In 2018 I completed an MA in Social Research (Interdisciplinary), and I am now studying for a PhD in collaboration with the Born in Bradford project.
Research interests
My PhD aims to develop a school-based assessment of childhood fundamental movement skill proficiency. Using quantitative and qualitative techniques I will be evaluating the feasibility, acceptability, validity, and reliability of the new assessment tool.
More generally, I am interested in childhood motor learning and the relationship between motor skills and other aspects of childhood development including academic attainment and health.
