Dr Aruna Asipu, Senior Research Fellow, Section of Genetics, Leeds Institute of Medical Research at St James's .Targeting vectors; Mouse models; protein expression, purification and crystal structure;
Responsibilities
- Research, Teaching undergraduate and post graduate students.
Research interests
Structural and biochemical aspects by generating recombinant human proteins using E.coli expression system. Functional aspects by generating knock out mouse models; physiology and mechanisms of diet-induced metabolic disease, Development of novel biological inhibitors. Examples: ketohexokinase, a key enzyme in fructose metabolism; and SAMHD1, a novel regulator in innate immunity.
