Professor Eva Morris

Profile

I lead the Cancer Epidemiology Group and my research is centred on the epidemiology of colorectal cancer and its management. I also lead the wider Section of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I lead large-scale population-based studies that are quantifying variation in the processes of management and outcome of cancer patients. These studies are generating the evidence needed to inform NHS cancer services.

In particular, I lead the UK Colorectal Cancer Intelligence Hub. This is a £3.4m Cancer Research UK programme that is establishing a UK wide colorectal cancer data repository, known as CORECT-R, and then seeking to use the data within it to generate the high-quality colorectal cancer intelligence needed to drive improvements in colorectal cancer management and outcome. I am also a Co-Investigator on the £1.5m Yorkshire Cancer Research Bowel Cancer Improvement Programme led by Prof Phil Quirke. I contribute to the research components of the MBChB undergraduate medical programme and supervise postgraduate students.
