Impact and Innovation conference 2020

The 2020 Impact and Innovation Conference features a panel of expert speakers who will showcase a range of innovation themed presentations to inspire research staff and guests from industry.

You are invited to register for the second Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine (LICAMM) Impact and Innovation Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Leeds on Friday 28th February 2020.

Register and book you place.

A panel of expert speakers will showcase a range of impact and innovation themed presentations. Our event will provide you with the opportunity to experience a series of inspirational speakers who will present:

  • Advice on demonstrating impact beyond REF2021
  • Development of impact case studies
  • Collaborations with industry through knowledge transfer partnerships
  • Commercialising research through a spin-out company
  • Securing innovation funding from the MRC

The impact competition will feature three activities: 1) poster competition; 2) image competition and 3) three minute 'turbo-pitch' competition.

This event aims to build upon the huge success of the inaugural event a year ago by attracting more visiting academics from other research intensive universities and extending the invitation to contacts from industry. The line up of speakers looks fantastic and the range of competitions open to academics and PhD students should encourage strong participation. I am sure it will be a very worthwhile day for anyone considering how to translate their research into commercial activity.
