Charles Thackrah Lecture - Title to be confirmed

The 2019 Charles Thackrah Lecture will be given this year by Dr Ian Smith, Special Advisor to the School Director, Honorary Assistant Professor, University of Hong Kong School of Public Health.
Dr Ian Smith recently concluded his 20-year career at WHO, latterly as Executive Director of the Office of the Director-General, a position he held from March 2014, having previously served as adviser to the Director-General, Dr Margaret Chan, from 2007 to 2014. He also fulfilled a similar role from 2003 for the former Director-General, Dr LEE Jong-Wook.
Charles Turner Thackrah
Charles Turner Thackrah was a pioneer in occupational medicine and public health and a founding member of the Leeds School of Medicine. The School of Medicine hosts this annual lecture.
The lecture will be held on Thursday 20th June 2019 at 12.00pm in Worsley Medical Lecture Theatre (7.35) Level 7 Worsley Building
Refreshments will be available at the close of the lecture.
