The School of Medicine delivers a broad research agenda, including basic discovery science through to applied health research aiming to make a significant difference in improving health and reducing health inequalities. We provide a varied portfolio of undergraduate (MBChB and intercalated), taught, and research postgraduate student education. With over 1200 academic, clinical, technical and support staff, the School has an annual income of over £90M.

Research and innovation
At the School of Medicine we have a reputation for conducting high-impact research that has real-world impact, improving peoples' lives as we search for solutions to the world's healthcare challenges. Our six institutes are home to leading researchers in their fields, as recognised by the latest Research Excellence Framework results which see us placed 10th for research power with over 80% of our research considered "world-leading" or "internationally excellent".
