Research interests

My research is focused on the use of minimally manipulated mesenchymal stem cells towards improved cartilage, bone and soft tissue repair in the joint. In particular, my work concentrates on the role of resident stem cells in natural repair, how they can be optimally manipulated using these resident cells and how their local environment affects their function. Currently, I’m  working on Aura trial (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02696876). In addition to work towards one-stage procedure for articular cartilage repair using Device Based Arthroscopic Mechanical Release of synovial mesenchymal stem cells with autologous platelet concentrate without cell culture expansion.
