Profile
I am the Lead for Health Professional Education Research in the Faculty of Medicine and Principal Research Fellow in the School of Healthcare. My research interests include professional education and practice, co-production, professional responsibility, supervision, transitions, learning in clinical settings and interprofessional education.
I am a Deputy Editor of the journal Medical Education.
My current work is focussed on inequalities and exclusion, particularly in relation to mental health.
Previously I was Lead for Research in the Leeds Institute of Medical Education where I was involved in local, regional and national activities aimed at developing and extending medical education research. This included establishing and facilitating the New and Early Careers Research Group, running regional and national events through the Centre for Research in Professional Education and being a member of the Education Research Group of the Association for the Study of Medical Education.

Research interests
I have undertaken a wide range of research projects with local, national and international partners in academia and clinical settings. interprofessional has included work on learning and practice in clinical settings, supervision, transitions, professional responsibility, gender, policy related research, understandings about professional identity and interprofessional working. Much of this work is interdisciplinary and informed by contemporary practice-based socio-material understandings of learning, professional education and practice, workplace learning, transitions, supervision, gender, interprofessional education.
Student education
I have been involved in the clinical education programme since its inception. I am a member of the programme management team, I teach across the programme and act as a supervisor and tutor.
