Dr Yu (Maggie) Fu

I joined the Academic Unit of Palliative Care, Leeds Institute of Health Sciences in 2019. My background is in Medicine, Public Health and PhD in Applied Health Research. Before joining the University of Leeds, I worked at the University of Nottingham where I led a collaborative study with Osteoarthritis Trial Bank using individual patient data to identify placebo responders and the potential determinants of the placebo response. I then worked at the School of Healthcare, the University of Leeds where I led a feasibility study aiming to develop and evaluate an evidence-based self-management intervention for older women with incontinence. I am currently working with Professor Mike Bennett on an EU funded project involving 7 countries aiming to develop and evaluate health interventions for patients with severe COPD who may need palliative care.
